Tell Us About House:

"Leaders & Ladies"

More than 165,000 women have been initiated into the sisterhood of Beta Simga Pi Fraternity since its founding on February 25, 1899, at the J. Taylor University in Greenville, Indiana. Our Founders, nine young women, envisioned an organization that would perpetuate their ties of friendship.

What Are The Common House Interests? What Are Some of the Things In the House To Do?
Ours is an organization that prides itslef on the mentality of "work hard/ play hard" (as long as you play like a lady!) so there is much to learn from in the house.  two study rooms, gym, tv room, tanning room, pool and spacious patio for "proper" social gatherings.

What Does Your Your House Do In Their Free Time?
Our house is involved heavily on the social scene in Greenville.  We are invited to all the parties, & well, we only frequent the best parties.  We have a garden on the grounds in our of our distinguished alums.  It's important to keep that up.

Tell us about the house layout.
The house has a clean layout with plenty of space to spread out.   All girls have slept soundly each night and ate, especially when the the buffet is served.  There are realistic features including a meeting room and ritual room.  I think they are pretty rad.  It is three stories.  Bedrooms up stairs, meeting room, living room, study room with computers, dining room, kitchen, and guest bath on first floor.  Basement has gym, laundry room, housemom's suite, tanning room, tv room, guest restrooms, secret tunnel system, & Ritual room.  There is a pool, garage and pool house out back.

Who or What Influenced When Creating This House?
I belonged to a sorority in college and was inspired by our actual events, like rituals, meetings, formal event, dinners, etc.  I looked at Ol' Miss Houses for building inspiration and thought it would be cool to include a secret tunnel system leading to the ritual room.  It's a bit of an adventure!

Tell Us Some Specs/Important Details about Your House?
The house is three stories with 8 student rooms, 4 student full baths, a housemom/butler suite, and two guest restrooms.  There is also a shower room off of the gym.  All rooms are single, no boys allowed ladies.  It's on a 50x50 lot.  I placed it where the old sorority was in the university town.

What is your House Motto?
Pursue the truth, seek moral fiber.

What does your House Stand For?
The crown, a symbol of our organization, has 5 points.  Academics, Socials, Loyalty, Philanthropy, & Sisterhood make up the points.  Moral Fiber above all, do the ladies of Beta Sims believe in with all their hearts.

What is your House Against?
We are against unjust truth, inequality and the mixing of patterns.

What Are Your House Colors?
Lilac, Citrine & Shamrock
Our other symbols include:
the five pointed crown, the citrine flame fruit, & the noble white owl

Lastly, tell us why your house should be picked over other Fraternities or Sororities?
You should rush Beta Simga Pi because we know how to balance the work with the play of college.  We help prepare young women for the future.  Our ladies are known on campus for being leaders and ladies.
